PODCAST: Women’s solidarity, the Montreal Massacre, & fighting violence against women today

VRR montreal massacre memorial

On Saturday, December 5th, from 10am-6pm, Vancouver Rape Relief & Women’s Shelter will host their annual Montreal Massacre Memorial event at the Vancouver Public Library. The event happens in congruence with the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, which takes place on December 6th, the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre.

This year’s event will feature film screenings, lectures, roundtable conversations and more, and is free and open to the public.

In this episode, I speak with Hilla Kerner, collective member at Vancouver Rape Relief, about the event and, more broadly, what’s changed and what still needs to change in terms of the national conversation around male violence against women.
