• Though a rally took place on Saturday, demanding Martha Harvey step down as CEO of the Pride Center of the Capital Region, board president Joseph Kerwin announced his support for her, saying the board of directors have no intention to remove her or ask for her resignation. “The board of directors supports the executive director,” Kerwin said. “She’s doing a good job.”

• Stop romanticizing obsessive, harassing behaviour from men.

• UK unions  ASLEF and GMB are calling to legalize prostitution.

• Some men choose not to watch porn and still have intact penises.

• This is not what progress looks like.

Light the bonfire, bring out the torches and pitchforks, I’m going to express an opinion and some might not like it.
A woman does not have a penis.
If someone with a penis wants to call himself a woman , well, that’s his business. I could call myself a teapot but I doubt it would be true.
No woman is under any obligation to be sexual with someone who dangles a penis. Some of us find a penis to be off-putting, some find it offensive, and some find a penis to be a hilarious and silly appendage.
Martha Harvey has no need to apologize.
And I, for one, have just about had it with being harangue’d about trans-inclusivity. I prefer the company of women and I’m under no obligation to believe you when you tell me you’re a woman who has a penis. A woman does not have a penis.
In short, son, to put none to fine a point on it…fuck off with your bullying!

Oh, don’t worry for Anita Green participating in a Women’s Beauty Pageant, soon female transmen will be allowed to take part in Men’s Beauty Pageants too… Oh wait. There aren’t Men’s Beauty Pageant. I really wonder why that is…

I guess I’m just a horrible “transphobe” but when I clicked on the article and looked at those pictures..well, I needed a good laugh.

I’m really angry that the Times Union article described the Feminist Current article as being about how “lesbians feel threatened by trans women.” As if the article was about lesbians feeling vaguely uncomfortable with trans people for unprovoked reasons. When in reality, the article was a specific and poignant exposé about the homophobic rape culture fostered by the trans movement.

I’m also deeply disappointed in Martha Harvey. I’m glad she didn’t get fired, because if she did get fired it would inspire other queer orgs to banish their lesbian staff, but I also don’t think that the Pride Center is a valid or useful organization. It will be doing nothing but harm to LGB (and even T) people until it ditches it’s pomo queer theory, and it’s not going to change anytime soon if its lesbian presence is as spineless as Martha Harvey. I know that she must be in a scary position, afraid to lose her job and her community, but I’m still appalled by how quickly she went belly-up in submission. She apologized profusely for simply offering up the FC article for discussion. And then she went on to insult the article in an effort to save her own skin, calling it “thoughtless” and “Hurtful.”

And yet the queer mob still rallied. Even though she read the transcript, sang the anthem, kissed the toes of a hundred glitter-speckled converses, it wasn’t enough. The queer cultists smelled the blood and they wanted to rub her face into the dirt as much as they possibly could. Just because they could. Disgusting.

That FC article made a hugely positive change in my life, and I know I’m not alone in that. It’s powerful. The fact that the queer cult is working so hard to sensor it, and to make sure no one currently under their control reads it, shows that they know how powerful it is.

“I’m really angry that the Times Union article described the Feminist Current article as being about how ‘lesbians feel threatened by trans women.'”

Right. It paints lesbians as irrational, and ‘phobic.’ As if lesbians are so ridiculous to be angry that men are claiming to be lesbians themselves, then attacking actual lesbians for not wanting sex with them.

      • oneclickboedicea

This is typical male supremacist behaviour, asvseen in high achool shooters and domestic violaters. Do as i say, your rights are less than mine. Trans is gender fascism.

I don’t know, but James Franco doesn’t seem all that enlightened to me. When he spoke of Rashida Jones’s documentary about porn, he said “[T]he main point I took away from that film is that these young women are not protected. It’s just completely unregulated.”

Like, really?? THAT was your take-away? Like those girls would’ve been fine with forced blowjobs and ass-to-mouth if they were just regulated more? I don’t know, man, that really sounded like a dog whistle for liberal feminists to me.

Completely uninterested in penis – be it right side out on the outside – or inverted and sewn into a surgical wound….I’m not *phobic* – I simply love women

  • Lucia Lola

Extraordinary how disingenuous these protesters can be, particularly when they insisted (and were denied, surprisingly) media be removed so that they could “freely” express their anger. The hypocrisy would choke if I wasn’t so used to it.

The description of the article in question was disappointing, but again, not surprising. No matter, I’ve shared it many times, and of each those shares, it’s been shared many times over.

    We’re getting there.

Very glad Martha Harvey gets this support from the center!!!

He was? I know about the 17 year old and the texting, which he never really provided an excuse for. I didn’t know about the kink thing.

I’ll say this: MAYBE he felt shame for these behaviors, MAYBE he saw himself going down a bad path, MAYBE that’s really why (if it’s true) he’s quit porn. MAYBE. And maybe he’s not gonna say all that. I do know men that quit because they saw their behavior escalating. I’m not saying any of this is true for him. I’m just speculating.

However, I do find it interesting that he claims Jone’s documentary influenced him to quit, while she recently admitted to consuming porn. Hmm.

    • radwonka

omg I forgot that the texting thing! that was creepy af!

And Yes, you can read more about it here, he made a documentary (and IIRC feminsitcurrent mentioned it?): http://www.firstshowing.net/2014/james-francos-kink-doc-trailer-explores-the-bdsm-sexual-fetish/

      Quote:
“producer James Franco pull back the curtain on the fetish empire of
Kink.com, the Internet’s largest producer of BDSM content. In a
particularly obscure corner of an industry that operates largely out of
public view, Kink.com’s directors and models strive for authenticity. In
an enterprise often known for exploitative practices, Kink.com upholds
an ironclad set of values to foster an environment that is safe, sane,
and consensual. They aim to demystify the BDSM lifestyle, and to serve
as an example and an educational resource for the BDSM community.”

or you can also listen to him lol:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-aF6KsAfP8

My guess is that even if he’s not into porn anymore, he still is a dom or something like that. You know men (vegan, libertarians, leftists, etc): when they oppose exploitation it is only because they have something in exchange. And this something is usually MVAW.

TBH I really don’t trust him, I don’t think that a documentary can change a man (and as you said, since now Jones changed her positition -or at least wants to be seen as a cool~~non prudish~~ feminist- now, … and knowing men, Franco would be the type to also change his official position just because of that. Kind of like “male allies”: “She said it’s cool, so it can only be cool!”).

  • Wren

Regarding The Pool article: so shithead Luke Howard called the press himself to film him playing to win back his girl?? Bullshit. I mean, it’s a fantastic article, but I don’t doubt for a second that his intention was NOT to “win” back his girl, but to publicly paint her as an insensitive bitch who would deny such a charming, talented (in his imagination) man. I hate it when men pull these kind of stunts, and they do it a lot. The fact the he called the paper to publicize himself just reveals his malignant narcissism.

    • Amy

No kidding, I’m sick of guys who think if they bring flowers along that it’s “romantic” to harass women. Seriously dude leave her the fuck alone. And so disgusting that the media or anyone else would enable a creep like that.

  • Stroke_Your_Own_Ego

That’s true, we’re only able to see part of the story. That makes me very, very glad that Harvey didn’t get fired.

  • Amy

Bc they want to be caricatures of what they believe women are required to look like. Believe me, Jenner would be appauled if his daughters didn’t look like hypersexualized dolls, bc that’s what HE thinks makes a woman a woman
