- Over the weekend, Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer reported that a second woman — Deborah Ramirez — has accused US Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, a federal judge who sits on the DC Court of Appeals, of sexual misconduct. Two more potential witnesses have come forward with allegations since. Kavanaugh’s first accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford has agreed to testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday regarding her own allegations.
- A lawsuit has been filed against a Ferguson, Missouri, nursing home, after the family of an 84-year-old great-grandmother with Alzheimer’s and mobility problems discovered that she’d been repeatedly raped and sodomized while in their care.
- Two girl’s unit leaders have been expelled from the UK Girl Guides, and their units disbanded, after signing a letter questioning a planned Girlguiding policy that would allow trans-identified boys to join overnight trips with girls without letting parents know, and for trans-identified males to be Guide leaders.
- Male investment banking executive, Phillip Bunce — who has been dressing part time in feminine clothing at work, while going by the name Pippa, for the last four years — has been placed in a list of the top 100 women in business by Financial Times and HERoes Champions of Women in Business 2018.
- Irish health minister, Simon Harris, says free abortion will soon be available, only months after a constitutional referendum overturned the country’s abortion ban.
- US McDonald’s workers in 10 cities walked out to protest sexual harassment in their workplaces.
