What’s Current: Women’s March announces they support a women’s strike

Women’s March organizers announce they will support a women’s strike:

Contemporary social theorists including Linda Alcoff, Nancy Fraser, and Angela Davis call women to action for the March 8th Women’s Strike.

“[W]e join with feminist groups from around 30 countries who have called for such a strike. The idea is to mobilize women… and all who support them in an international day of struggle – a day of striking, marching, blocking roads, bridges, and squares, abstaining from domestic, care and [prostituted] work, boycotting, calling out misogynistic politicians and companies, striking in educational institutions.”

I completely agree with you, the politicisation of womens bodies and choices is pure misogyny, there’s nothing else to it. Its a topic that needs to stop being brushed aside. I seriously believe that control and legislation of reproductive rights is the single most harmful/dangerous thing that is being aimed at women via the patriarchy at this point of time. This issue is literally going to end up with more women dead so if there was a time to make one issue the main objective, this is it.
