What’s Current: Sad white creep celebrated at Oscars

And the Oscar goes to… A fucking creep! (A sad creep, tho.) In a form of silent protest, Brie Larson doesn’t clap.

On the bright side, Viola Davis is the first black woman to have won an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony Award for acting.

Vicente Fuillerat shot and killed his estranged wife Samara Routenberg and her girlfriend Lisa Fuillerat on Friday morning. The murder was premeditated. A domestic violence injunction had been obtained against Fuillerat, but it was not made permanent and was not current. Both women had already communicated that they were “afraid something like this might transpire.”

Demand for rape crisis services has increased exponentially, but funding is failing to keep in step.

Super rich white guy suggests men use women’s washrooms to “protect trans kids.”

Well said. I’m sick to death with feeling like my very existence is being erased, bit by bit.

Ah, but super rich white guy is a Pritzker!

This is so true — even the “working class” set up is phony. He’d be working shifts in fast food or Wal-Mart not being a handyman in a fishing village if the film were set in actual poor people 2017 rather than plinky plink aggrieved sentimental violin music 2017.

Hollywood is sooo hypocritical! They launch rants against one misogynist rapist but applaud and award another, pathetic.

Wait, I missed it! Hollywood launched a rant against a misogynist rapist?! Who?

If you think that Bill Cosby being held accountable for rape represents a tuning point in the manner Hollywood treats women, you are wrong. Cosby’s fall from grace had more to do with being black and assaulting mostly white women. That’s the true outrage among those men reporting on the case. Other male stars are just as contemptible. But you won’t hear a peep about them. Jack Nicholson has been beating and abusing women his entire career. In 1996, he beat two women mercilessly over having to pay for sex. He was never arrested. The two women sued. The Smoking Gun Website has the details. You should check it out? Two years after that incident, Nicholson received an Academy Award.

Harvey Weinstein, the powerful Hollywood director is a serial abuser of women. A independent producer claimed that Weinstein’s behavior will “make Bill Cosby look like a monk.” He is known for holding casting sessions on Friday evenings where he greets women in his bathrobe. Ashley Judd is believed to be one of Weinstein’s victims. She spoke about a Hollywood mogul making her watch while he showered. In 2015, Weinstein was accused of sexual assault by a 22 year-old Italian model. Again, he was never prosecuted. The Obama’s are allowing their oldest daughter to intern with Weinstein. What the hell are they thinking?

Whether it is Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Woody Allen, Sean Penn, Nicholas Page, etc., Hollywood as well as the entire entertainment sphere, has been abusing women since their inception.

Barack Obama has to stay in Hollywood’s good graces if he is going to raise his $billion with a B for his presidential “library” in Chicago (plus probably another billion or so to endow the staffing and programming), so maybe he figures it’s a small price to pay. Or maybe, even if he can’t dispatch murder drones anymore, he still has enough clout to be scary to Weinstein. As long as his daughter will be OK, then no problem.
