On Friday, Ontario-born filmmaker, Joshua M. Ferguson, applied to change his sex designation on his birth certificate from male to “non-binary.” A spokesperson for the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services told the CBC that the government is in the process of “developing” a gender neutral birth certificate.
