What’s Current: Berlin moves to ban sexist advertising

Berlin’s municipal government is moving forward with plans to ban sexist advertising.

American rapper YG demanded female fans expose their breasts to him at an all-ages gig in Brisbane. The 27-year-old rapper then insulted one of the underage fans who had fulfilled his request, saying, “Baby, baby, baby, you look like you’ve got mosquito bites, put your ass down,” (this comment was greeted with howls from the crowd.)

Hundreds attend vigils to remember Charleena Lyles, who was killed at her home by Seattle police on Sunday after she called them to report an attempted burglary.

The Missouri state Senate voted to pass a bill that would overturn prohibitions on discrimination based on “reproductive health decisions.” This means that women who have had an abortion or who use birth control can legally be denied jobs and housing.

Older women have replaced young men as the art world’s darlings.
