I looked to see if Women in Film is actually for women, or if it is also for males that identify as women.

It looks like it is for actual women, at least until males take it over.

    • Despite the silence about this shameful issue in Hollywood, I’ll bet the irony of the Wachowski Brothers–oops, Sisters!–wasn’t lost on anyone.

The universal credit is working exactly as the male government means it to work. It gives more power and control to males, straight off of the backs of women.

  • oneclickboedicea

Julie Bindel, talking truth to neo liberal power. We all have to be as brave as her.

Pissed off at the Gender Recognition Act proposals – hope they have thought about how they are going to safeguard children in all of this, or are they happy to have a generation of youngsters making themselves infertile?

To be honest, I couldn’t care less what an adult human does to their bodies because it’s not my business, however a) it does NOT make you the opposite sex. Not now, not ever. And if my rights and visibility as a woman are being eroded because of changes to law and public spaces off the back at it then you can bet your ass I will be shouting about it, and b) Leave the bloody children alone! They can’t make life altering decisions about their bodies.

    Julie Bindel, indomitable, inspiring hero.

Is May out of her fucking mind??? (Rhetorical question.)

This is what I was thinking too!

We have been told a billion times that trans people have been born in the wrong body and that insurance companies, welfare etc must pay for life saving/necessary medical care (like breast implants).

So now, trans people no longer have a medical condition or an illness? If its not a medical condition, why do they need treatment (hormones, etc)..what are they being treated for then? and if its not a medical condition, then neither insurance nor welfare is obligated to pay for these treatments…

    This makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe it’s a lifestyle choice … one that is so incredibly “special” that the entire community has to pay for it one way or another?

I was struck by this particular line from the Guardian Article:

May told the awards: “We are determined to eradicate homophobic and transphobic bullying.”

Ha! Well, I gather the Prime Minister isn’t talking about the bullying and misogyny practice by Trans activists. Here is an example of what they think of a biological women. None of you will be surprised.

I could only watch one minute of this loudmouthed creep acting just like an entitled male (gee, you think?). He has a OPEN, FESTERING WOUND if we assume he chopped off his penis, and he talks shit about our beautiful, clean, whole vulvas? And those ugly plastic boobs — I love Germaine Greer’s description of breast implants — no milk ducts, no blood vessels, and cold. What a world we live in where this robotic sex doll is making videos.

      • lk

I’ll be honest…I could not get past more than two minutes of the video-between the constant name-calling of women (hoe, bitch, etc) and insulting women for their “nasty pussies” (which as you pointed out is hilarious because mtf’s who have had sex change surgery have wounds that the body constantly tries to close).

Someone remind me again how transactivists are allies of women?!

I have never heard GG’s description of breast implants before..but it is dead on.

All these inventions to mimic women’s bodies are just that…poor, fake imitations that come nowhere close to the reality and complexity of actual female human bodies.

      Gross. Ugh.

  • FierceMild

Yes, thank you! I had the same reaction and didn’t examine it as fully as you did. I think that feeling is probably why I made the comment about just how awesome Julie Bindel is; because the interviewer seemed totally unaware of how long and how tirelessly Ms. Bindel has worked for women.

  • FierceMild

Ha! I have a whole trans sub-grouping including headings like:
    Still male violence
    Still male supremacy

Keeping quick access to articles like that helps me. I have the resources to reach people who might otherwise be in the fence.

I know it feels good to call people you don’t like crazy. I still use psychiatric language sometimes for people/things that irritate me. But it seems clear to me that labelling discomfort and “deviation” from patriarchal misogynistic gender roles actually leads to more transing, Especially in children with homophobic parents.Saying that deviation from gender is an “illness” legitimizes gender. The solution to transing is eliminating gender… WHich is not something psychiatry has any interest in doing…
This blogger did a good job of explaining this.
