What’s Current: US candidate says we need fewer penises in politics

  • Dana Nessel, a Democratic candidate for Attorney General in Michigan, has released a campaign ad that encourages voters to elect more females. She encourages voters to elect more women in the wake of sexual harassment and assault allegations against male politicians:

“When you’re choosing Michigan’s next attorney general, ask yourself this: Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting? Is it the candidate who doesn’t have a penis? I’d say so.”

  • Here are a couple articles to remind us all that sexual harassment of women by men is rampant in the food and retail industries.
  • Yendi Guadalupe Torres Castellanos, a Mexican female prosecutor who specialized in crimes of violence against women, was murdered earlier this week in the state of Veracruz.
  • The beauty industrial complex has invented a new thing for women to hate about themselves: “arm vaginas.”
