Sabo, a 49-year-old man, said the campaign exists to retaliate against Streep for criticizing Donald Trump. “She’s swiping at us so we’re swiping back,” he said.
  • Christian Sarile, a male schoolteacher in Calgary, is facing 49 criminal charges related to the sexual abuse of 22 girls. The charges include sexual assault, sexual interference, and accessing and distributing child pornography.
  • A couple in Ireland are the first to be charged with female genital mutilation in the country.
  • Statistics Canada and some major municipal police forces are not accurately or reliably tracking cases of missing Indigenous women.
  • Irish people travelling home for Christmas are affixing “healthcare not airfare” tags to their luggage. The campaign is an attempt to highlight the fact that, every day, 11 Irish women have to leave the country to access legal abortions.
