I disagree with Kathleen stock. While I can and do appreciate her viewpoint, it is based on males accidentally or mistakenly harming us.

No. Nope. Males are not that stupid. The law works exactly as they intend it to work. It is protecting males and enabling them in to our private spaces and to take our scholarships, spots on sports teams, etc.

How can anyone buy this CONFUSED MALE IS CONFUSED, THO act is beyond me. We state facts, factual incidents of the harm they are actively causing only to be met with rape and death threats, called bigots and terfs.

But this is why patriarchy will never be ended. Because we will continue to explain to males as if they are little confused toddler boys. And perpetuate the myth that when males choose to harm us, that it is “unintended”.

If we don’t deal with the fact that males hate us, do not see us as human, and purposely harm us with intent because they like doing so, we will never change our lot. It’s been 5000 years of confused male. When will enough be enough.

Well, she was only 18… Quite young imo… Almost still a teenager….

      Isn’t 18 still a teenager?

      • Meghan Murphy

I mean, I kinda think so… But generally we seem to consider 18 the age of adulthood, in our society… You can vote at 18, smoke, go to adult jail instead of juvie, etc.

    Re: Naker

IMO, only 8 years for raping/sexually assaulting a woman and then leaving her unconscious in an alley is a light sentence. But I am happy that (unlike so many rapist) he will suffer some consequence for his behavior. I’m not sure about the laws in Britain, but I’m assuming that he’ll also be placed on some kind of sex offender list.

A few things really stuck with me as I read this story:
    1. That this guy is married. I think so many times women are in bed with awful men and don’t even know it. I have to wonder what it feels like for his wife to know that the man she married rapes women in his free time.

    2. That if this was not on camera, he would never have been caught. In the past, there has been some conversations about requiring cops to wear body cams at all times as a way to curb police brutality, sex abuse….Imagine if all men were required to wear recorders on them at all times….how many men would we see hitting on underage girls, raping/sexually assaulting (or attempting to), visiting prostitutes, cheating on their partners, manipulating/bullying women/girls into sex?

  • Meghan Murphy

I see your point. I mean, it’s not worse, per se. I suppose it’s just a matter of accuracy? I suppose I find it relevant to know that adult, married, well-to-do men are going around targeting drunk practically-teenagers, but you are correct that sexual violence is awful no matter who it happens to.

  • Meghan Murphy

I mean, I think I get it… And I don’t think you’re wrong… I suppose I just particularly hate grown men who prey on teenagers… Not only are they rapists, but they’re practically pedophilic… On the other hand, what difference does it make — a sadist is a sadist.
