  • Thousands protest in Warsaw and other Polish cities after lawmakers announce a near-total ban on abortion, outlawing all abortions except in cases of rape and incest, or when the mother’s life is at risk. 
  • Sri Lanka’s government says it will provide free sanitary napkins to nearly 800,000 schoolgirls. The Guardian reports only 30 per cent of women and girls of menstruating age in Sri Lanka have access to menstrual products.
  • A bill that would ban trans-identified male athletes from competing on female sports teams sponsored by public schools advances to the U.S. Senate.
  • U.S. President Joe Biden reverses a ban on federal funds going to international aid organizations that perform or provide information about abortion.
