What’s Current: Florida Department of Health advises against puberty blockers for children

  • The Florida Department of Health has issued a press release advising that children under 18 “should not be prescribed hormone therapy or puberty blockers,” and gender reassignment surgery “should not be a treatment option” for children or adolescents.
  • At least 20 women in the U.K. have been killed by men who consumed violent pornography, according to an investigation by The Daily Express. Currently, several MPs are concluding a probe into the links between pornography and attacks on women.
  • Westminster College in Utah will offer a course on “hard core pornography” in the 2022-2023 academic year. “Hard core pornography is as American as apple pie and more popular than Sunday night football,” reads the private liberal arts college’s website.
  • U.K. Police are letting off sex offenders without a criminal record if they apologize. Some 870 cases have been dealt with by “community resolution” in just two years.
  • Minnesota has become the first U.S. state to develop a task force for missing and murdered Black women and girls. Nationwide, an estimated 64,000 to 75,000 Black women and girls are reported missing.
