What’s Current: Trans-identified male to earn women’s pro golf tour title

  • Trans-identified athlete Hailey Davidson could become the first male to receive a Ladies Professional Golf Association tour card, sparking outrage over fairness for biological women in golf. The mother of Wimbledon champion tennis star Andy Murray, Judy Murray, spoke out on Twitter, saying:

“Not fair at all. Protect women’s sport. Listen to the facts, the scientists and the medics. This is wrong.”

Students and a staff member also raised objections after an online discussion during which Boardman asked them to consider whether drag acts could be seen as sexist considering that blackface is viewed as racist.
