  • R. Kelly is arrested following a sweeping indictment on 13 federal charges that include child sex trafficking and racketeering. Prosecutors allege that the R&B singer participated in a 20 year long scheme that recruited women and girls to engage in illicit  sexual activity.
  • At least a dozen more women have come forward with claims that billionaire Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused them. Labour secretary of President Trump, Alexander Acosta, announces his resignation following criticism for his role in a 2008 child sex crime case in which he secured a plea deal for Epstein that resulted in a shorter sentence.
  • A teenage rape victim in El Savador who was charged with murder after her baby was stillborn will face retrial following nearly three years imprisonment.
  • Ukraine adopts a law that allows the chemical castration of paedophiles found guilty of raping or sexually abusing minors.
