  • A report by the UK and six other countries on the safety effects of end-to-end message encryption revealed that Facebook was the source of 94 per cent of the 69 million child abuse images reported in 2019.
  • In 2019, 541 children in England and Wales were victims of malicious sharing of indecent nude images of themselves, with a third of the perpetrators being minors.
  • According to the anti-slavery organization, Walk Free, 29 million women and girls are living in conditions of slavery, including forced marriage, debt bondage, and forced household labor.
  • India’s Union Home Ministry has issued an advisory to states that police services must complete investigations into rape charges within two months of complaints being filed.
