What’s Current: Inmates pregnant at women’s prison after transfer of trans-identified males

  • Two female inmates held in New Jersey’s Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women are pregnant as a result of male transfers who self-identified into the women’s prison. State authorities implemented a sex self-identification policy in June 2021 following a settlement with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
  • Reported rapes are at an all-time high in England and Wales while prosecutions fell by 70 per cent in the past four years. A new report calls for specialist rape investigation teams to be installed in every police force.
  • A lawyer in Florida is seeking out unsatisfied patients of popular gender surgeon Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher. Kendra Parris aims to build a legal case against Gallagher, who performed “bottom surgery” on men, but after complaints, changed states and began targeting teen girls and young for double mastectomies via TikTok.
