What’s Current: Oklahoma passes bill banning the transitioning of minors

  • The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a bill banning health care professionals from providing puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender reassignment surgeries for minors.
  • A 50-year-old male named Tiffany Newell placed first in the women’s indoor 1500 meter running competition for women aged 50-54, which took place in Toronto this past week.
  • An Isle of Man high school suspends its sex education curriculum after a drag queen guest told pupils there are 73 genders.
  • A petition from parents of students attending Queen Elizabeth II High School previously called for an “immediate investigation” into the curriculum, saying:

“We consider the attendance of a ‘drag queen’ in class and alienating students clearly confused about the information discussed during this session wholly inappropriate,” the petition reads in part.

  • Students in British schools are protesting boys being allowed to use girls’ washrooms, claiming boys are photographing girls in stalls.
