  • They still have the buttons advocating trans violence against feminists for sale at Etsy. I got an email from them today promoting all this trans pride paraphernalia, I guess because I went to the site believing (or hoping) Etsy would take down those pieces.

    • Wren

This is what I just got from them:

“Thanks for taking the time to report this to us. We’ll look into it right away.

Please keep in mind that all reports are confidential. Additionally,
while we cannot comment on the activities of specific shops or listings
for privacy reasons, we can assure you that we will review each report
and, if we see a policy violation, handle it privately with the seller.

Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity of our marketplace.”

      And this as a disclaimer:

“This message is a private conversation between you and Etsy. Please
respect this confidentiality and refrain from distributing this
      communication without permission from Etsy.”

Why the fuck does this need to be private??? THE BUTTONS SAID KILL WOMEN. Yes, that’s sounds like a private matter.

    This is appalling: http://news.nationalpost.com/toronto/septembre-anderson-why-ive-been-silent-about-the-andray-domise-allegations

I mean, she’s very clearly publicly defending the man because he is her friend, but framing it as a political defense. I mean, even if you don’t believe the victim, wasting media space defending abusive dudes because you like them is completely unethical and a bad use of energy.

  • FierceMild

    Agree, but sex not gender.

  • FierceMild

    And how deep their fear.

I guess they’re too young to remember OJ’s trial?

Like, as if domestic abuse is acceptable if it happens to a white woman?? I mean, this is what they are arguing, effectively. How is it feminist to defend violence against women so long as the perpetrator is a man of colour. It is ok if the perpetrator is poor, too? wth

  • Yisheng Qingwa

I will no longer use Etsy and will delete my account.

  • Lisa Tremblay

Thanks for your response. I agree that everyone has a right to a fair trial. But how many trials that involve women or Indigenous people or people of colour are fair? Courtrooms are rife with gender and race dynamics and biases that undermine, even negate, justice. Maybe it’s unrealistic of me to wish that women lawyers would stand with us instead of against us, but I think if they did, it would make a powerful statement.

If they don’t pull them we should conduct an experiment with buttons promoting death to men and see what happens.

  • Atheist

Well that’s just it, once you assume that all white women are evil racists who false accuse black men of crimes, it makes violence against women all the more invisible and even acceptable. Leftist men think it’s okay for men to brutalize white women if she’s accused of racism.

  • Meghan Murphy

“They” refers to the author of the National Post op-ed, as well as anyone else making these arguments… They are very common indeed on the left. Virtue signalling leftists use the existence of racism as an excuse to be misogynist.
